  • KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY IN THIS POSITION INCLUDE:

    • Evaluates system potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs and equipment.
    • Evaluates expansions or enhancements by studying workload and capacity of CCTV, Fire, Intruder, BMS, Access Control support.
    • Achieves the above objectives by gathering pertinent data; identifying and evaluating options; recommending a course of action.
    • Confirms software & firmware and network objectives and specifications by testing new programs; comparing programs with established standards; making modifications.
    • Improves existing systems by reviewing objectives and specifications; evaluating proposed changes; recommending changes; making modifications.
    • Evaluates vendor-supplied product & software by studying user objectives, testing software compatibility with existing hardware and programs.
    • Places hardware into production by establishing connections; entering necessary commands.
    • Maximizes use of hardware and software by training users; interpreting instructions; answering questions.
    • Maintains system capability by testing all related components.
    • Prepares reference/reports for users by writing operating instructions and providing test results for problematic sites.
    • Maintains historical records by documenting calls and services provided on the Support Management Software.
    • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops/courses; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Repairs to Databases and merging of site information.
    • Providing technical support to Elvey’s clients & staff at the various branches of all products they supply and support.
    • Project manage and site / product commissioning and QC, where allocated to project manage a project.
    • Providing telephone and remote assistance.
    • Responsible to assist for Stock counts.
    • Maintains ISO compliancy.

    MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRES:

    • Grade 12 or N3 qualification.
    • Problem Solving,
    • Presenting Technical Information,
    • Process Improvement,
    • Software Testing,
    • Network understanding and Implementation.
    • Project management skill.
    • Load Balancing and Scalability.
    • Vendor Relationships, Software Performance knowledge,
    • Network Performance Tuning, Database Performance Tuning.
